The Sound of London Acid Techno - Chris Liberator and Sterling Moss The Sound of London Acid Techno - Chris Liberator and Sterling Moss, Acid Techno Sample CD, Techno Samples, 303 Bass This is the Acid Techno sample pack from The Sound of London by Jeremy Miles and. The Sound Of London History The tracks were recorded at varying times between April and September 1985 at The Roundhouse (London) and Electric (London). The first three tracks were recorded over a period of two weeks and the remaining ten tracks over a period of a few days. Production Miles has described the recording sessions as follows: "The first 11 sounds were done at Electric, where the band had been rehearsing. As they were having a busy day, I only got to do vocals and guitars for the first ones. We then went over to The Roundhouse for the remaining sounds, where the band were rehearsing. I only did drums, bass, piano, synth bass, a bit of vocals and some percussion on the first few sounds. They were done in sequence, one by one. I had a very light touch, and occasionally overdubbed vocals a little higher up in the track, or maybe added more harmonic and natural sounding effects. At this point we ended up with at least 31 tracks." Packaging and marketing The disc was released on vinyl in black and red, or black and silver, pressed by both Pawn and Propaganda. The vinyl version followed the UK Music Factory track lists in numbering the tracks 1 to 24 as "Sound of London Acid Techno", the next nine tracks as "Sound of London Techno", the next nine as "Sound of London Techno Techno Dub", and the last five tracks as "Sound of London Techno Dub Dub". The labels issued the disc in Europe as "Sound of London Acid Techno" and the United States as "Sound of London Acid Techno / Techno Dub / Techno Techno Dub". Critical reception Robert Christgau of The Village Voice reviewed a promotional cassette pressing of the disc in January 1986 and praised the disc as a "romantic artefact", crediting it to the "[d]usty-noir pop-mathematics that make TOL my gang". He also praised the disc's contribution to the overall track and praised the remix, dub and acid styles on the disc, writing, "But the real feast is The Sound Of London, whose debut for RAM forces out the word-things we call techno.
